Freshman's Apollo series has always gone down well at the Musicians Centre. They seem to have managed to fit features and quality into an instrument which people would expect to pay a lot more for. The Apollo 3 acoustics take that a step further. Featuring a AA grade Canadian Sitka spruce top and mahognay back and sides, the Apollo 3s scream quality from every angle. Binding is a wonderfully done mahogany affair with a slither of maple, really finishing off the look well.

Fitted with Fishman Aero Dual Pickup

The Apollo 3s are fitted with the excellent Fishman Aero Dual pickup. This features a side mounted control panel and is fed from both an under saddle Piezo transducer and a body microphone. The mic blend control on the control panel allows this microphone to complement the under saddle signal and gives a real depth and warmth to the tone. On the control panel there is also overall volume, three band EQ, notch filter, phase button and built in tuner.

Body shape is a folk type Grand Auditorium giving a good overall balance and allowing finger picked notes to be very clear and crisp but having enough bottom end to give strummed chords a big and non boxy tone

Finishing off the look is an abalone rosette and decent quality gold Grover machine heads. The Apollo 3 is an acoustic guitar you need to try.
