An electro-acoustic from Freshman with a solid Canadian Sitka spruce top and beautiful maple back and sides.
The pickup comes in the form of, we believe, an Artec 4-Band side mounted job, it does the trick without being massively expensive. The maple back and sides give a punch and 'zing' that mahogany and rosewood doesn't with the trade off of being slightly less bassy. However the dreadnought body compensates for this nicely and the result is a good balanced tone with nice top end bite.
The top is solid Canadian Sitka spruce, definately one of the best places to get spruce from, Canadian Sitka spruce takes a little while to mature but a year or so of regular playing will transform this into a different guitar as far as the tone goes.
Binding around the body and soundhole rosette is a tortoise shell effect which really sits nicely with the overall look.
A great electro-acoustic, maple back and sides is definately something worth checking out, it might be the sound you've been looking for!
