Freshman all solid acoustic guitar with jumbo shaped body, a solid Canadian A grade Sitka spruce top and solid Canadian mahogany back and sides. A really rich deep bass sound but with balanced mids and ringing trebles, the FA250JCE is a dream to play with a comfortable mahogany neck with rosewood fingerboard and a rosewood bridge.
The Swiss made Schertler 3F pre-amp features a Blue Stick under saddle microphonic pickup. This gives an amazingly true representation of the guitar's tone. The pre-amp controls are a small affair with simple volume, treble and bass controls which is held in place with three screws. No hole was needed to be cut out of the side of the guitar which means less compromise of tone.
The Gold machine heads are Freshman's own and smoothly respond well, the back is finished off with a herringbone binding down the centre.
