Martin 1 series electro-acoustic with Fishman pickup. The Martin 1 series sports solid Sitka spruce tops and solid sapele back and sides, as you would expect from Martin, that cut of spruce really is stunning. Nice tight, consistent grain and gives a crisp top end with bags of character and clarity to the 1 series.
The solid sapele on the OMC-1E is a mahogany type wood found in Africa and has a crisp and bright sound, it's very durable and offers a fantastic looking grain.
The 1 Series's top bracing is a Modified Hybrid X series affair which are scalloped allowing the OMC-1E's solid spruce top to vibrate freely, give an even sound and really project out but still hold everything stable and in place under the pull of the strings. Another thing that is going help you keep stable tuning and setup is that stratabond neck. This is a very very strong material that withstands changes in humidity and temperature well so wont warp and bend as easy as many other necks. Perfect for the gigging or travelling guitarist who exposes their guitar to a wide range of climate conditions.
The Fishman pickup on the Martin 1 Series OMC-1E has a built in tuner, three band EQ and the unit pivots out to show the battery compartment, very simple and easy to use.
The 1 Series was originally brought out during The Great Depression of the 1920s to give an affordable guitar for trying times. The D-1 and D-2 as they were known progressed to become the legendary D-18 and D-28. As with any Martin, these guitars held or increased their values incredibly well compared to other manufacturers, you can expect this of the new 1 Series OMC-1E acoustic guitar too.
