Martin & Co. X Series Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar With Gloss Top DX1RGT

Dreadnought acoustic guitar from Martin & Co's X series. The X series uses a patented unique type of construction, usually just on the back and sides called High Pressure Laminate. This is a compressed, hard and very strong laminate technique which still gives an impressively deep tone while keeping costs down and consistency, strength and durability up. Solid wood is actually a fairly delicate thing, it will expand and contract with extremes of temperature and humidity causing no end of problems. No such problems with High Pressure Laminate, it's also much less prone to being scratched or knocked.

The DX1RGT has this High Pressue Laminate on it's back and sides while utilising a fantastic cut of solid Sitka spruce on top. The top only is finished in a thin polished gloss giving it a stunning finish and protecting that solid wood.

Tone from the DX1RGT is full, bright and has 'that' Martin sound. Action is set at around 3mm on the 6th string at the 12th fret, this is on the high end but you'll be surprised how easy it still is to play up and down the neck, a testament to the quality of the Stratabond neck and superbly set frets. Stratabound is a butcher block type material, layars of extremely dense wood bonded together to give a very strong neck which will stay straight for a long time.
