Peavey's Vypyr range is the newest and most exciting development in the world of modelling amplifiers for years. The Vypyr 75 features a 12" custom voiced speaker, 11 editable stomp box type effects, 12 amplifier modelling settings with a clean and dirty sound on each amplifier and 11 editable rack effects.

All these are incredibly easy to find and select using just 3 knobs meaning getting a specific sound on the Vypyr 75 is quick, simple and intuitive. Up to five effects can be used simultaneously, all the processing is done through the onboard SHARC dual core processor. The Peavey Vypyr's stomp box effects include fuzz, flange, phaser and even a tube screamer emulator which can be editted by simply pushing the selector knob and adjusting parameters with the knobs otherwise used for EQ. The same is the case with the rack effects and any settings can be saved in up to 12 bank presets if using the amplifier on it's own or within up to 400 banks available if used in conjunction with the Peavey Vypyr Sanpera 2 foot switch (available seperately).

If this wasn't enough, the Vypyr also sports an on board looper which can be used in conjunction with either of the Sanpera pedals (note: the looper does only work with one of the pedals which is available seperately), a studio quality headphone out socket which can be used as a high quality line out (this does mute the speaker when in use) and a USB2 output meaning recording straight into a computer is simple and of an extremely high quality.

One thing that makes the Vypyr series stand out from other modelling amplifiers on the market is Peavey's analogue Trans-Tube circuitry in the pre-amplifier and output stages. This system isn't new but has been renowned for offering a warmth, and cutting sound associated with all valve amplifiers. This type of tone is much easier get to "sit" correctly in a mix with other instruments and is pretty much as close you are going to get to a tube sound without using those delicate valves.

The actual modelled amplifers need to be heard to be believed. A great deal of time and effort has been put in by Peavey to make sure that amplifiers such as the Fender Twin, Fender Deluxes, Peavey's own 6506, JSX and XXX amplifers and classic Brit and Classic amplifiers are accurately represented. Even the response of the EQ is modelled down to a T.
