Schecter Blackjack Tempest electric guitar, released in 2009 and now featuring that cool Ace of Spades 12th fret inlay, the Blackjack Tempest sports a carved mahogany body in that Tempest shape. Contoured in such a way to be a really comfortable guitar to play stood up, the Blackjack Tempest has tons of bottom end character aided by the solid mahogany and this is harnessed to perfection with the Seymour Duncan JB bridge pickup and Seymour 59 humbucker for the neck pickup.
22 chunky jumbo frets are polished to perfection at Schecter's California factory and the whole setup and quality control done by the Schecter guys in America before being sent to us. This is what make Schecters that extra bit special. The Blackjack Tempest has a fixed bridge and utilises a Tune-o-Matic setup with strings strung through that mahogany body. This gives bags of sustain and also a lot more string vibration is transferred to the body beefing up the tone.
At the other end of the Blackjack Tempest we see solid Grover tuners and a graphite nut for tuning stability. Tuning is spot on on the Black Jack Tempest, if you change to drop tunings or anything like that this is ideal.
So, we have a nice meaty humbucker sound from the Seymours, but what if want a more single coil raspy sound? Simple, just pull either the volume or tone knob to Coil Tap the pickups, this really opens up the range of tones available and makes the Schecter Black Jack an incredibly versatile guitar.
